Spring DIY Projects

Hey Ladies!
I finally got my act together this past weekend and got our projects finalized for the DIY Spring Retreat. As a reminder it will be April 13-14 at Bosqueville Baptist Church.

The DIY Retreat is your time to work on your personal projects. You can also choose to work on any or all of the three projects that I have available. The project details and prices are listed below. Please have your project orders to me by FRIDAY, MARCH 30. I cannot guarantee the availability of supplies for any order that's placed after the 30th.

Special thanks to Shannon and Mary Alice for their inspiration, encouragement, and help in getting this weekend planned!

Project #1 - Blocks and Tag Sets

This wonderful project was inpsired by one offered by Crop, Paper, Scissors this past Fall. You can change out the tags on the block for various holidays and occasions. In the pictures, I don't have the ties on the tags yet, but they will loop around the tack in the block!! For this retreat, we have three different sets of tags to choose from (get one or all !)

Blocks - $5 per set (6 blocks in a set)
Tags - $5 per set

Project #2 - Magnetic Chalkboard
This project consists of a 14" x 14" magnetic chalkboard and your choice of 6 magnets. I don't have all the magnets available to view right now but you will be able to choose from the ones available at the Retreat. Sorry for the poor quality of these pictures. I really need a new camera!
1 magnetic board & 6 magnets - $10

Project #3 - Coasters

These coasters are super duper easy to make and are a great gift idea. I made 50 sets (that's a total of 200 coasters!) for party favors at my brother's rehearsal dinner. They were a big hit and I'm sure you'll enjoy them.

Coasters - $8 per set (4 coasters in a set)

Tuesday's with Morley - January

It seems like we build up to Christmas for months and months. Then, when it's over - it's over. I was shocked to see all of the Valentine displays in the stores just a few days after Christmas! So of course, I've jumped on the bandwagon - we'll be doing Valentines cards for our January meeting!

The Occasions Mini is now out and it is amazing! There are a lot of great new products - stamps, papers, Big shot accessories, and more. It's also Sale-a-Bration so don't forget that for each $50 order, you can choose one item from the Sale-a-bration catalog.

Our first card utilizes one of the new items in the Occasions mini - the Paper Doily Sizzlits Die. It's super cute, but punching out all of those little doily holes can be tedious. Be sure to bring your paper piercer with you to the club meeting!

Our second card was inspired by this post on Split Coast Stampers. I really liked the layout, but then I put my twist on it! The new satin pleated ribbon is adorable!

December Projects

For December, we're going to be making these cute gift card holders! They are made using the Holiday Stocking Bigz L Die. I love the plaid paper that's featured in the Frostwood Lodge DS Paper.

November Club Cards

For November, we will do one card and one 3-D project. I think they are both really cute

The card is one that I CASEd from Split Coast Stampers. Here is the link. I didn't have the exact sentiment so I changed it up with one that I had. I love how the Pool Party color blends with the fall colors!

The second project is this ultra-cute box. I used a die that Melanie owns. It can be used as a gift card holder or it's perfect for candy or pack of gum. I'm thinking about doing several of these and putting them at everyone's plate at the Thanksgiving table!

I've been overwhelmed with work and travel so I have to apologize in advance for the October cards - not one of my finer moments! Oh well, I can't hit a homerun every month, can I??!!!

Don't forget that October is our order month!

August Club Cards

After being "off the air" for ten months, my blog is revived! Hopefully, I'll keep up with it better than I have! We had a fun kick off for the new year last month, so now it's time to hit the ground running.

The first card highlights the watercolor technique. I used watercolor paper and Stayz On ink to prevent the colored inks from running. I still need to practice with this technique and get better at shading. I CASEd this from SCS.

Stamp Set - Morning Cup
Cardstock - Pear Pizzaz, Rich Razzleberry, Tempting Turquoise DS (retired), Watercolor Paper
Inks - Pear Pizazz, Rich Razzleberry, Tempting Turquoise, Stayz On Black
Accessories - Rich Razzleberry Polka Dot Ribbon (retired), Linen Thread, Jewelry Tag Punch, Vintage Trinkets, Paper Piercer, Aqua Painter/Blender Pens, Stampin' Dimensionals

The second cards shows off a new technique I've learned - Faux Pearl. I think it turned out pretty good. I used Frost White Shimmer paint to achieve the "pearly" look in the flower.

Cardstock - Calypso Coral, Wisteria Wonder, Lucky Limeade, Early Espresso, Berry Blossoms DS Paper, Whisper White
Inks - Calypso Coral, Wisteria Wonder, Lucky Limeade
Accessories - Scallop Trim Border Punch, Fun Flowers Bigz L Die, Bird w/Leaves and Flowers Die (retired), Frost White Shimmer Paint, Sponge/Sponge Dauber, Stampin' Dimensionals

Tuesday's With Morley - October Scrapbook

Fall is definitely in the air! I love the crisp mornings we've having lately.

For the October scrapbook, we'll do a Halloween layout. I used a new item to SU! - the Big Shot Mulitpurpose Adhesive Sheets. This is a great way to add adhesive to an element. You apply the base material (cardstock) to the adhesive sheet, run it through the Big Shot, and then peel off the remaining backing! It's especially good for items that are delicate in nature and hard to apply regular adhesive.

I also used some old DS paper - Ghostly Greetings - from a couple of years ago. It felt good to be able to use up some of my stock of paper!

Recipe
Cardstock - Basic Black, Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie, Going Grey, Ghostly Greeting DS (retired)
Accessories - Bitty Bat Punch, Spider Web Embossing Folder, Alphabet Simple Letters Die, Stampin' Dimensionals

Tuesday's With Morley - August Cards

Have I mentioned that I love the new catalog! I'm really digging the In Colors this year!
We will be doing Thank You cards this month.
