Photo Tin Stamp Camp

Photo Tin Stamp Camp
Tuesday, August 18
6:00 pm
Kathleen's House
Deadline to Sign-up: August 15

The Tuesday's with Morley club will not be meeting in August. However, I wanted to keep everyone's creative juices flowing so I will be hosting a Stamp Camp on the 18th. Our project will be these fabulous photo tins.

I received one of these as a door prize at stamp camp at Lindsey's a couple of years ago. Since then, I've made several as gifts and they have been a HUGE hit! They are great little "brag books" and can be easily transported in a purse or displayed proudly in your home.

You will need 8 pictures with dimensions of 2" x 3". I have found that printing the picture as a wallet size is the best way to go. I usually get mine printed at Wal-Mart and two wallets are printed for each one ordered. So, you can make one for yourself and second as a gift! Keep in mind that Christmas is fast approaching and these make great stocking stuffers.

The cover of the tin is your chance to express your creativity! I will have my example, but you can substitute any stamp set to suit the occasion.

The tins, paper, and accessories are available for $5 each. Contact me for choices of colors (I recommend two to four). Also, I need to know the number you would like by Saturday, August 15.

Finally, if you place a Stampin' Up! order with me on or before the 18th, you will receive free shipping !!!

What was I Thinking ?!

I have not posted on the blog for over a month and here's the reason why! My brother is getting married next week and for some reason I agreed to make the party favors for the rehearsal dinner.

In our family, the rehearsal dinner is more than just the bridal party. We invite all relatives and out of town guests. So we're expecting close to 100 people. For the party favors, I made 50 sets of coasters. Needless to say, my shoulder is killing me!

Special thanks to Leah Fish for the inspiration behind these gifts. She taught a class on these coasters at Retreat a couple of years ago.

Recipe -
Coasters - Wall tiles from Home Depot
Stamp Sets - Bella Toile Background, Textured Flourish Background (non-SU!)
Ink - Staz-On Black
Paper - Basic Black, Real Red, Whisper White
Accessories - Clear Embossing Powder, Matte Acrylic Finish, Red Raffia Ribbon, Scallop Circle Punch

Tuesday's with Morley - June Cards

For the first card, I used a cool texture die that was given to me by my Secret Sister at the last retreat (thanks, Linz!) I think for the cards for the club, I'm going to get some bigger brads. I really don't like the size of the ones in the picture.

For the second card, I'm FINALLY using the Define Your Life stamp set. It's a cool set that has definitions of words from all the letters of the alphabet. You'll be able to choose the word/definition that suits your needs!

The color combination for this month's layout is great - Regal Rose, Pumpkin Pie, and Chocolate Chip. After all, who doesn't like Chocolate Chip ?!

Belated Birthday

With eleven nieces and nephews, it's inevitable that I forget a birthday or two. I was on vacation a couple of weeks ago and totally forgot my nephew George's birthday. So, I used Kristina Werner's Color Challenge for his (belated) birthday card.

The colors were great - very vibrant. I really like the way this turned out. It's kind of hard to see in the picture, but I used a polka dot texture plate on the yellow portion of the card. I also added some Dazzling Diamonds to the top of the cupcakes!
