Nugget Boxes Galore!

My sister is hosting a bridal shower and asked me for some help on a gift for the guests. I had extra nugget boxes on hand so I made 25 of these puppies!

Bridal Shower Card

My youngest brother is getting married in July (yikes!). I'm going to a shower for my future sister-in-law, Kristina, in a couple of weeks so I needed to start working on a card. While at Retreat this past weekend, my friend Shannon was working on a scrapbook layout for a bridal shower she is hostessing. I loved the stamp set she was using and seeing her final product gave me a few thoughts for a card.

I think the card turned out great! The colors of the wedding are red, black, and white. Plus Kristina is crazy about polka dots so I was able to incorporate all of that into the card. I ventured outside of my comfort zone and used a Triangle Trifold card. The tutorial can be found here.

To top it all off, I designed an envelope since this is a square card and I don't own any square envelopes!

Lazy Days

Anyone who knows me has heard countless stories about my two girls. Their names are Riley and Molly and they are of the four-legged variety. When people ask "what kind are they"? - I always answer "the best kind!" They are both from the Humane Society. They also have complete control over the household! This particular layout is from an afternoon over Thanksgiving weekend last year. My parents were in town for a visit. Between my dad and the dogs - there wasn't an empty seat in the house!

The layout uses the Simon Lower chipboard alphabet. It's retired from Stampin' Up! so I don't want to actually use the chip board. Instead, I traced the letters onto the paper and cut them out. I added some sponge daubing around the edges to add an extra touch. I topped everything off with some Build-a-Brads.

Rested, Revitalized, and Ready to Go

For the past couple of months, I've had a really hard time getting my creative juices flowing. I've been putting in alot of hours at work so when I get home I'm just too tired to be creative. However, I attended Lindsey and Leah's retreat this weekend, and I've come back a new woman! I love going to these retreats. It's a wonderful time to get away and concentrate on one thing - being creative! What a treat to be able to spend two days with a group of wonderful women. The fun and fellowship is second to none - plus these girls are super talented. I've got a lot of ideas popping out of my head. I've already got one of the cards designed for the April meeting of Tuesday's with Morley!

In the coming days, I'll be posting some of the layouts that I completed while at retreat. Be sure to check back soon!

Tuesdays with Morley - March Cards

We'll be doing Easter cards this month. I also got to try out my new Big Shot! This is one accessory that's going to get quite a work out.

This first card uses a couple of the new embosslit dies. It not only does the "normal" die cut, but it embosses at the same time! The Tea Party DS paper is really cute too.

I got the idea for this second card from the latest edition of "Stampin' Success". This publication is sent each month to Stampin' Up! demonstrators. It contains lots of ideas and good business advice for the demonstrators.
